İğdir Pond

There is İğdir Pond in Kavacık Stream Valley fed from the slopes of Hızır Mountain. İğdir Village is 2 kilometres away from Ankara- Bolu Highway. The lake is suitable for angling while the surrounding area is suitable for trekking and photo-safari.

Pelitçik Fossıl Forest

There are silicified tree fossils in volcanic lacustrine sediments, on the northern skirts of Kuztepe, south of Pelitçik village near the Çamlıdere entrance of the Anatolian Motorway. The area that looks like a petrified forest is under protection. It is possible to come across small fossil areas around Çamlıdere Bayındır Dam.

Karaoğlan Ancıent Sıte

Karaoğlan is located 25 km south of Ankara and on Ankara-Konya highway. Excavations in this area were done by Prof. Dr. Remzi Oğuz Arık on behalf of Turkish Historical Society. At the mound were found from bottom to the top: cultural floors from Chalcolithic, Bronze, Hittite, Phrygian, Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantian periods. It is one of the most important stations in the Ankara Gölbaşı area containing Hittite and Phrygian floors. Artifacts found in this site are exhibited in the Anatolian Civilizations Museum.

Ahlatlıbel Atatürk Park

Situated on Şehit Savcı Mehmet Selim Kiraz Boulevard at İncek, Ahlatlıbel Atatürk Park contains a grassy area of over 25 thousand square meters and a forest area of 180 thousand square meters. There is also an ecological pond, a carpark, playgrounds for children, a tennis court, an astroturf, a basketball court, a volleyball court, a go-kart track, jogging and walking tracks, a golf course, a bicycle track, a picnic area, cafeterias and an open-air sports field.

Mogan Lake Park

One of the most important aspects of Gölbaşı Special Environmental Protection District, the Mogan-Eymir lakes basin, which are approximately 971 km2 size are natural dam reservoirs located on the lower south tip of a basin that is generally flat but rough in certain places and formed behind alluvial sets. The average surface area of Mogan Lake is 5 km2. The basin in which the lakes are in is substantially wide, while the surface area and water volume of the lakes are much smaller in comparison with their basins. This is the biggest natural reason that increase the pollution pressure on these lakes. The average depth of Mogan Lake is approximately 2.8 m. and its average altitude above sea level is approximately 972.6 m. There are picnic gazebos, kiosks, sports areas, walking tracks and cafeterias in the lake area.

Elmadağ Skı Resort

The nearest ski resort to Ankara for winter tourism is on the northern slope of Elmadağ and near Yakupabdal village. The altitude of Elmadağ Ski Resort is approximately 1.500-1.800 metres, and its average snow depth is between 30-60 cm. Its total track length is 700 metres and is treeless. It has two tele skis with a length of 300 and 650 metres. The average number of days that snow remains on the ground is 105. It is generally available for skiing between January and March. At the ski resort, there is a touristic facility with a restaurant and cafeteria called Elmadağ Mountain House as well as facilities built by certain institutions and organizations for their employees.

Hoşebe Caravan Site

The tomb of Hoş Ebe, after whom it is named, is also located here. Used as a day-trip picnic spot, the area is suitable for caravan tourism. The area, which is the natural habitat of the juniper bird, is also home to other bird species. The monumental juniper trees in this region create a sight worth seeing. The area has social facilities and children's parks. The surroundings also offer suitable places for camping and nature walks. It is also a suitable area for photosafari and bird watching activities.

Andız Plateau

It is located 30 km from Nallıhan district. It is near Beydilli village. There is no infrastructure on the plateau where villagers graze their animals. There is a fountain built by the forest administration. Surrounded by black pine forests, the plateau is ideal for hiking and camping.

Yaşlı Ardıç Pond

Yaşlı Ardıç Pond was built in Uzunlar Neighborhood, in the Akyurt district of Ankara, through a joint project by the Akyurt Municipality and the State Hydraulic Works (DSI). The operation, maintenance and management of the pond were transferred to the Akyurt Municipality. As of 2025, landscaping of the surrounding area, afforestation and the development of a recreation/mesire (picnic and leisure) area are still in the project planning stage. The existing pond area is suitable for nature observation, short hikes and outdoor photography

Brıde Rock

As a result of volcanic eruptions around the village of Taşlıca, flowing lava dispersed and settled in the environment, solidified, and petrified. These andesites melted over time, forming interesting rock masses. Visually the most extraordinary and famous of these rocks, common in the locality, is Bride Rock.

Sarıkavak Faıry Chımneys

There are geological stalagmites at the entrance of Sarıkavak village that is 29 kilometres away from Çamlıdere district centre. Fairy chimneys, which are formed as a result of natural melting, offer a visual feast at different times of the day with the help of the sun.

Çubuk 1 Dam

Being the first dam of the Republic Era, it was opened in 1936 by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. It is a dam built on Çubuk Stream for the purpose of supplying drinking, utility and industry water and preventing floods. Atatürk Mansion, music hall and picnic areas have been built around the dam. Nowadays it is used as a relaxation and recreational area with its beautiful view. The dam was designed as a recreational area by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality in 2020 and parks, sports areas, walking and bicycle lanes, an observation terrace, cafes, and playgraounds were built. The dam was opened with its new design on 29 October 2020. In this area where Atatürk Mansion was restored there are also picnic gazebos and barbecues. The dam and its surrounding area is suitable for nature walks and photosafari.
