Maternity Museum

The Maternity Museum, the first of its kind in both Türkiye and the world, was founded on April 29, 2024, by author Şermin Yaşar. Dedicated to the mothers of Anatolia, this unique museum offers visitors the opportunity to explore the universal values and cultural diversity of motherhood through sculptures, paintings, and installations. Combining art and history, the museum features works related to heroes of the Turkish War of Independence, as well as pieces by renowned artists and masters of sculpture and ceramic art. Emphasizing the universality of motherhood, the museum also showcases mother-themed medals from diverse geographies and doll figures dressed in traditional costumes representing over 50 countries around the world

Eğerlibaşköy Caves

On the slope of Kaletepe and near Eğerlibaşköy, on a hillside overlooking the Eğerlidere Valley, there are rock-cut settlements constructed for shelter purposes that blend into the natural landscape. The four-story caves were internally modified and organized into corridors and rooms. Rectangular openings providing access between floors, as well as rectangular niches carved into the walls, are present within the structures.

Sincan Pets Park

This area, which holds the distinction of being Türkiye’s largest park in terms of variety and number of domestic animals, is home to many animals such as ducks, geese, Ankara goats, fallow deer, ponies, llamas, ostriches, and pheasants. Additionally, the park features sports facilities, running and walking tracks, a fitness area, and children’s playgrounds.

Hamamönü

"Hamamönü takes its name from the Karaca Bey Bath, commissioned by Karaca Bey, the Beylerbeyi (Governor-General) of Anatolia, in the 15th century. Today, the district is recognized as a living cultural and historical quarter of Ankara, preserving a dense concentration of Ottoman-era heritage. Within Hamamönü—now commonly referred to as Hamamönü—the bath commissioned by Karaca Bey remains one of the defining structures, surrounded by numerous historical mosques, small prayer houses (mescit), lodges (dergâh), tombs (türbe), madrasas, fountains, burial grounds (hazire), and traditional mansions. As part of major conservation and urban renewal projects, the historical fabric of the neighborhood has been carefully preserved, and its traditional Ankara houses have been reintegrated into the city with new cultural functions. Today, these restored structures serve as tea and coffee houses, restaurants, patisseries, museums, art centers, cultural houses, and shops for tourism and handicraft souvenirs. The Karaca Bey Mosque and its surroundings form the heart of the quarter, framed by notable examples of traditional Ankara civil architecture. Distinguished historical mansions that remain standing and attract visitors include the Kamil Paşa Mansion, Beynamlızade Mansion and Kabakçı Mansion, one of which is popularly known today as Kabakçı Konağı. Another architectural landmark that shapes the silhouette of the area is the Hamamönü Clock Tower, an iconic symbol of the district’s cultural identity. Hamamönü is now one of Ankara’s most important culture and tourism destinations, where the city’s historic character meets daily life, offering both locals and visitors an authentic urban heritage experience"

Museum Of Holy Relıcs

Located right next to the Tomb of Sheikh Ali Semerkandi, the Çamlıdere Sacred Relics Museum is a site of great spiritual and cultural significance. This meaningful museum brings together visitors with the sacred relics left behind by Sheikh Ali Semerkandi in Çamlıdere. The museum’s collection includes personal belongings such as a tripod he crafted himself, as well as the ewer and basin he used for ablution. Additionally, the collection features weaponry and swords belonging to the Semerkandi Foundation. These valuable relics, rich in both historical and spiritual meaning, create a strong connection between the past and the present, attracting thousands of domestic and international visitors each year.

Mithat Paşa Monument

Located in the south of Ziraat Bank Headquarters, the statue of Mithat Paşa was built by Dr. Hüseyin Anka Özkan in 1966 upon the request of the general directorate of the bank. The statue depicts Grand Vizier Mithat Paşa, who established Ziraat Bank in the year 1863, sitting in an armchair. There are three wheat ears and a wheel over his left and a scale over his right.

Hatti Monument

This monument built in Sıhhiye in 1974 is the replica of 24 cm long ceremonial object unearthed during the Alacahöyük excavations and currently on display at the Museum of the Anatolian Civilizations. This statue known as the symbol of the Hittites actually belongs to Hatties who are Anatolian indigenous people that lived in the Bronze Age (second half of 3rd century B.C.) The Hatties developed the animal figured god cult and adopted especially the bull as an important symbol. The unity of the bull and sky-sun bust is believed to be symbolizing the greatest God of Sky.

Air Force Museum

The rich collection of aircraft, weapons, ammunition, and ground defense systems registered in the Turkish Air Force inventory is exhibited in an open-air setting with a contemporary museology approach. In the museum’s projection hall, various aviationthemed presentations are shown; a cafeteria on the first floor serves visitors, and the garden features a playground for children.

Museum Of Evliyagil

Müze Evliyagil is an art space where selected works from the collection of Sarp Evliyagil, Chairman of Ajanstürk, created according to his professional interests, are presented to the public through periodically organized exhibitions centered around different themes. This selection, ranging from original print series to large-scale sculptures, showcases the diversity of the collection and reflects art across various disciplines.

Şorba Town

During the Ottoman period, the Ankara Sanjak served as the administrative center of the Şorba and Yabanabad districts. In the town center, notable historical landmarks include the Abdülbaki Mosque, constructed in the 15th century, the Hacı Ali Efendi Mosque and Fountain built in 1905, as well as historic mansions. Pazar Stream flows through the town before joining the Kurtboğazı Dam, and the Pazar Pond, located within the Pazar Stream Valley, serves irrigation purposes.

Toy Museum Of Ankara Unıversıty

The Toy Museum is a scientific institution that exhibits various examples of traditional children’s games and toys, contributing to the research of children’s culture in Türkiye. The museum houses approximately two thousand toys, both domestic and foreign, industrially produced and handmade, which are organized into five main sections.

Altınköy Etnography Museum

Located within the Altınköy Open-Air Museum, the Ethnography Museum houses a significant collection that showcases Türkiye’s cultural history and rich heritage. Traditional garments from various provinces such as Ankara, Bolu, İzmir, Muğla, Mardin, Hakkâri, and Gaziantep are displayed on mannequins, offering visitors a visual journey through regional attire. The museum not only presents clothing but also immerses visitors in the lifestyle of past eras through carefully recreated room scenes furnished with authentic household items. A dedicated section on Seğmen culture provides insight into the meaning and significance of this tradition. In this area, visitors can view traditional Seğmen outfits as well as cultural elements that reflect Anatolian heritage, such as “Ankara Seğmenleri” (Ankara’s Seğmen Warriors) and “Ankara Gelinleri” (Ankara Brides). Through this rich collection, visitors gain a deeper understanding of Anatolia’s cultural wealth and traditional ways of life.
