About
The State Memorial Cemetery is designed as the eternal resting place for Presidents of Türkiye and commanders of the War of Independence who significantly contributed to the establishment and development of the Turkish Republic. Beyond serving as a burial site, the cemetery functions as a cultural and historical center dedicated to commemorating key figures of the Republic and preserving their legacy for future generations. The museum within the cemetery exhibits personal belongings, photographs, and documents of the interred state leaders. In the lower level, projection devices present a film introducing the State Cemetery, along with various visual productions related to Atatürk and the War of Independence. Visitors have the opportunity to experience a historically informed narrative and gain an interactive understanding of the Republic’s founding struggle.
