During the Ottoman period, the Ankara Sanjak served as the administrative center of the Şorba and Yabanabad districts. In the town center, notable historical landmarks include the Abdülbaki Mosque, constructed in the 15th century, the Hacı Ali Efendi Mosque and Fountain built in 1905, as well as historic mansions. Pazar Stream flows through the town before joining the Kurtboğazı Dam, and the Pazar Pond, located within the Pazar Stream Valley, serves irrigation purposes.
