Established by author Şermin Yaşar as a tribute to the Turkish language, the Museum of the Words opened its doors to visitors on September 26, 2022, coinciding with Turkish Language Day. The museum aims to present the rich vocabulary of Turkish through a blend of art, visual design, experience, and emotion. Through its exhibitions and installations, it offers visitors the opportunity to explore the depth and beauty of the language. Located within the Ankara Castle, Museum of the Words is housed in a historic building registered by the Ankara Cultural Heritage Preservation Board. Once used as a granary for grain and mohair, the structure has been restored in accordance with its new function as a museum.
