About
Located in the Beşikkaya neighborhood, Altınköy is a living open-air museum on a 500-decare land. The museum brings traditional Anatolian village life to life with its mosque, washhouses, bakery, school, grocery store, village houses, windmill, watermill, suspension bridge, and village coffeehouse. Within this space where rural life is actively experienced, visitors can encounter animals, barns, pens, coops, fruit and vegetable gardens, wheat fields, ox carts, natural village products, and workshops. Original architectural examples of timber-framed houses, mosques, and highland houses from forest villages have been relocated to Altınköy, preserving their authentic characteristics.
