In the village of Ilıca, 35 kilometres
southeast of Polatlı district, the hot spring
water, which is thought to be discovered in
the Roman Period, flows warm in the winter
and cold in the summer. Fishes that live in
the pond are said to be sacred. According to
the belief, when the country goes into war,
the fish disappear from the pool and join the
war as soldiers.
