Located in İç Cebeci neighborhood, the mosque was commissioned to Mimar Sinan by Cenabı Ahmet Paşa, the governor of Ankara then, in 1566 during the reign of Suleiman, the Magnificent. It is a classical Ottoman mosque for its square floor plan and single dome. The walls are of cut stone and the dome is lead plated. There are four marble columns, three pointed arches, and three small domes at the narthex. The three rows of window frames are decorated with colourful traditional patterns. White marble pulpit and mihrab have a modest appearance.
