About

The museum was established on November 24, 1981, within the body of the institute to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Atatürk’s birth. It was founded with the aim of preserving and revitalizing ethnographic artifacts that are at risk of being forgotten, passing them on to future generations, and introducing Turkish culture and traditional handicrafts to both local and international visitors. A significant portion of the collection belongs to the late Ottoman period. The museum consists of three main sections: The first section exhibits silver household items and jewelry; the second showcases handcrafted embroidery works and the third features a “Hall of Honor,” displaying photographs of Atatürk and the museum’s guestbook.
