About
Located in Maltepe district, the mosque was built between 1954-1959 by the architect Recai Akçay. The mosque, made of ashlar stone as some classical Ottoman mosques, has a single dome and two minarets. The square-planned prayer room is illuminated by many stained-glass windows. The narthex on the north facade is under five small domes. Kütahya tiles were used in the outer courtyard and the Surah Fatiha was written in gold leaf on the window. Classical decorations are observed on the dome rim and other parts.
