About

The Village Toys Museum, one of the most intriguing sections of the Altınköy Open-Air Museum, takes visitors on a nostalgic journey by showcasing toys crafted in the past. The museum houses a wide range of historical toys, from rag dolls and wooden toys to marbles and spinning tops, wire cars and stone dolls. The two-story museum features old village toys on the lower floor, while the upper floor houses stone dolls, gum tragacanth, and elif dolls. Adorned with regional costumes, the stone, gum tragacanth, and elif dolls also reflect the characteristics of brides’ and grooms’ attire from various Anatolian provinces. Furthermore, miniature reenactments of traditions such as grooms’ shaves, henna nights, and washing clothes at the fountain are presented to visitors.
