Chosen the best of the year among Eastern Mediterranean countries, Altınpark, located on a 640 thousand metre square area, is Ankara’s biggest recreational site. 85 percent of the park is green space and ponds. Altınpark has reached its current state with the completion of a project that won first place in a competition in 1985. One can find all the colours of life in Altınpark with its Science Centre, international- scale fair and congress centres, kindergarten and summer school, kiosks and restaurants, water shows set to music and lights, game and entertainment areas, amphitheatres on the lake shore, skating rink, boats, bumper boats, electrical touring cars, mini touring train, horses, and parking areas. The horse barn is among the different activities offered in Altınpark where adults can ride horses and children can safely ride ponies.
