About
It is within the borders of Polatlı county,
on the Ankara- Eskişehir Highway. During
the War of Independence, when Kartal Tepe
was taken by the enemy on 31 August 1921,
Turkish troops at Duatepe retreated to Basrikaletepe
to escape the danger of being surrounded.
Multiple trench battles were fought
to keep this important piece of land and to
protect the Polatlı station area.
